Sports-tech startup Hudle has secured $2.5 million in Series A funding, in a round led by Sky Impact Capital, with participation from Physis Capital, Atrium Venture, and a group of prominent angel investors including tennis legend Mahesh Bhupathi, sports presenter Gaurav Kapur, and the founders of Blue Tokai and Nitro Commerce.
This fresh capital comes more than a year after Hudle raised ₹7 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Inflection Point Ventures in April 2024.
Founded by Suhail Narain, Arjun Singh Verma, and Sonam Taneja, Hudle is on a mission to make recreational sports more accessible and engaging for urban India. The platform currently connects users to over 2,000 sports venues across 60 Indian cities, facilitating seamless real-time bookings and participation in a growing range of sports, including badminton, pickleball, padel, and others.
According to the company, Hudle enables more than 150,000 games every month and is targeting over 3 million games played by the end of the current fiscal year.
With this latest infusion of funds, Hudle plans to expand its venue network, enhance product capabilities, and launch innovative features aimed at deepening user engagement. One such initiative is GRIP (Game Rating Index for Players) — a first-of-its-kind recreational sports rating and ranking system that will go live in August 2025, beginning with pickleball, padel, and badminton.
“Recreational sport is undergoing a transformation in India. People no longer want to just play—they want to track progress, connect with like-minded players, and be part of a community,” said Suhail Narain, Co-Founder and CEO of Hudle. “With GRIP, we aim to bring the thrill of performance measurement to amateur sports while keeping it fun and inclusive.”
Over the past year, Hudle has reported strong business momentum, with 3.5x growth in gross transaction value (GTV) and 2.5x revenue growth. The company’s technology stack offers key features such as easy venue discovery, performance tracking, and skill-based game matching — designed to appeal to India’s growing base of health-conscious and socially active urban youth.
The Series A funding marks a pivotal moment for Hudle as it looks to strengthen its position as the go-to platform for India’s booming recreational sports ecosystem.
