Bambrew Raises ₹90 Cr to Build the Future of Sustainable Packaging, Eyes Global Expansion

In a major boost to India’s green-tech ecosystem, Bambrew, the Bengaluru-based meta-materials startup redefining sustainable packaging, has raised ₹90 crore (around $10.3 million) in its latest funding round. The round was led by Ashok Goel, former Managing Director of Essel Propack, alongside Japanese VC firm ENRISSION INDIA CAPITAL.

This fresh infusion comes after Bambrew’s previous raise of $11.8 million from investors including Blume Ventures and signals growing investor confidence in climate-conscious innovation rooted in deep-tech.

Founded in 2019 by Vaibhav Anant, Bambrew has been quietly building a packaging revolution—developing planet-positive, high-performance alternatives to single-use plastic. From bamboo fiber and agro-waste to seaweed and recycled paper, its proprietary materials are designed to be durable, scalable, and home-compostable—without compromising the functional demands of modern commerce.

Speaking to Indian Startup Times, Anant said, “Our mission is to replace plastic at scale, without making sustainability feel like a compromise. This capital gives us the runway to deepen R&D, ramp up manufacturing, and take our solutions to global markets.”

Over the past year, Bambrew has broadened its product range from garment and mailer bags to packaging for delicate items like mango boxes. The company now serves over 500 brands across sectors like FMCG, personal care, e-commerce, and food & beverages—including through innovations like plastic-free laminates and aluminium-free recyclable films.

But perhaps the most exciting chapter is yet to come.

The company is preparing to launch a direct-to-consumer (D2C) range of eco-friendly everyday packaging essentials in the coming months—marking its foray into the consumer market and putting sustainable packaging directly in the hands of eco-conscious buyers.

Bambrew also shared its ambitions to clock ₹120 crore in revenue and reach profitability within the next 12 months. Future plans include deeper penetration into quick commerce and personal care segments, with a focus on performance-grade materials that are both compostable and recyclable.

With climate and commerce colliding more urgently than ever, Bambrew is positioning itself not just as a materials startup—but as a symbol of India’s capacity to lead in sustainable innovation.
