LowCarbon.Earth Accelerator Returns for 5th Edition, Backs Startups Building a Greener Tomorrow

On World Environment Day, a powerful reminder echoed from Delhi’s India Habitat Centre: building a sustainable future is not just a mission—it’s a movement. At the heart of that movement are startups.

The Massive Earth Foundation, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), officially launched the 5th edition of its flagship climate-tech accelerator, LowCarbon.Earth, with a call to action for early-stage founders tackling the planet’s toughest challenges.

The event was inaugurated by Leena Nandan, former Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), and was graced by senior IAS officers and delegates from UNESCO, UNEP, NPC, and APC—bringing together key stakeholders from across the climate and governance spectrum.

Climate Innovation Meets Global Support

Since its inception in 2021, LowCarbon.Earth has gone far beyond workshops and pitch decks. It has:

  • Supported over 180 startups

  • Enabled access to $350 million in climate-focused capital

  • Forged partnerships across continents

But beyond the numbers, the accelerator has built a community of purpose-driven innovators working on real-world solutions—from cutting plastic pollution to electrifying transport, from regenerative agriculture to zero-waste models.

Vinutha Raju, Program Head at MEF, summed it up perfectly:

“These startups don’t just reduce emissions or support the circular economy—they build sustainable businesses that create wealth. With the right support and capital, sustainability becomes a strong economic model.”

A Platform for the Underrepresented

In a space where funding often skips over the most promising changemakers, LowCarbon.Earth is making a conscious effort to be inclusive. This year, it is actively encouraging applications from women-led startups, youth founders, and those from marginalized communities—recognizing that climate innovation must be as diverse as the world it hopes to protect.

Applications Now Open

Startups solving for air and water pollution, EV mobility, plastic reduction, waste, or green agriculture can apply now at LowCarbon.Earth.

With the world racing to meet net-zero targets by 2030, this isn’t just another accelerator. It’s a launchpad for climate founders who want to change the world—and know that they don’t have time to wait.
