Capillary Technologies Doubles Down on Loyalty with Kognitiv Acquisition, Eyes North America Expansion

In a strategic move underscoring its ambitions for global growth, Capillary Technologies, a leading AI-powered loyalty management platform, has announced the acquisition of Kognitiv, a well-established provider of omnichannel loyalty solutions. This marks Capillary’s fourth acquisition in the loyalty space since 2021, further cementing its position as a key player in a sector increasingly driven by personalization and data intelligence.

With this acquisition, Capillary is not just expanding its product suite—it’s making a bold push into the North American market, adding to its growing footprint across the US, ANZ, Southeast Asia, and the UAE.

Founded with a vision to transform how brands build loyalty, Capillary’s technology helps over 100 global clients—15 of them Fortune 500 companies—deliver personalized experiences using artificial intelligence and real-time consumer insights. By bringing Kognitiv into the fold, Capillary aims to sharpen its data-driven approach to customer engagement even further.

Kognitiv, which operates in 20 countries, brings a rich portfolio of enterprise clients such as PetSmart, Hallmark, Yuu Rewards, Kirkland’s, Curaleaf, and Leading Hotels of the World. Since merging with Aimia’s Loyalty Solutions business in 2020, Kognitiv has built a strong reputation for delivering omnichannel loyalty programs at scale.

Capillary’s past acquisitions—Persuade, Brierley+Partners, and Tenerity’s Digital Connect Assets (now Rewards+)—highlight a clear and consistent strategy: consolidating best-in-class capabilities across markets to become the go-to global loyalty partner. Kognitiv’s inclusion is not only a geographic expansion but also a capability upgrade, especially in omnichannel experience delivery.

Kognitiv’s expertise in omnichannel loyalty solutions aligns with our global expansion strategy,” said Aneesh Reddy, Co-founder and CEO of Capillary Technologies. “This acquisition will enable us to deliver impactful loyalty solutions that drive consumer engagement and business growth.”

This move comes on the heels of Capillary’s $140 million Series D funding round in early 2024, where $20 million was earmarked for ESOP payouts—an indication of the company’s intent to reward internal talent even as it scales aggressively.

As brands look to move beyond transactional loyalty and into emotionally resonant, data-powered relationships with customers, Capillary is betting big on the future of intelligent loyalty. With Kognitiv on board, it’s well on its way to becoming a global force that helps businesses not just retain customers—but understand, engage, and delight them.
