AI-Powered Cybersecurity Startup Repello Raises $1.2M Seed Round to Safeguard GenAI Systems

Artificial intelligence-driven cybersecurity startup Repello has raised $1.2 million in a seed funding round led by Venture Highway, Pi Ventures, and Entrepreneur First, with participation from prominent angel investors including Meta board member Charles Songhurst, Sarvam AI CEO Vivek Raghavan, and Satya Vas.

Founded in 2024 by Aryaman Behera and Naman Mishra, Repello is focused on building security infrastructure specifically designed for generative AI systems. The funding will be used to enhance product capabilities, scale global outreach, and deepen research into advanced offensive testing simulations.

While its R&D and engineering teams are based in Bengaluru, Repello operates its commercial and customer-facing functions out of San Francisco, strategically positioning itself in one of the world’s most AI-active markets.

Tackling New-Age Threats with ARTEMIS and Repello Guard

Repello’s flagship product, ARTEMIS (Automated Red Teaming Engine for Mapping, Identification, and Scanning), is an advanced simulation engine that stress-tests AI models across text, visual, and audio layers to uncover vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. These tests are designed to mimic real-world attack scenarios, including prompt injections, data leaks, and adversarial manipulation.

Complementing ARTEMIS is Repello Guard, a live security framework that monitors AI systems in deployment, flagging issues like inappropriate content, data exposure, and unsafe outputs. Together, the two tools aim to offer a comprehensive protection layer for both pre-deployment and live AI environments.

Investor Confidence in the Future of AI Security

Commenting on the funding, Aryaman Behera, Co-founder and CEO of Repello, said:

“We’re building cybersecurity infrastructure for a future where GenAI powers critical applications across industries. Our mission is to ensure these systems are secure by design—not just secure after the fact.”

The investors echoed this sentiment, highlighting the increasing need for AI-native security solutions as enterprises globally integrate generative models into production workflows.

Expanding Global Reach

With North America as its primary market and rising demand from regions like the Middle East, Repello is expanding its presence to meet growing international needs for GenAI security infrastructure. Over the past year, the startup has onboarded early enterprise clients and launched pilot deployments with AI product companies across sectors including finance, healthcare, and education.

The Road Ahead

As AI continues to reshape industries, Repello’s approach signals a shift in how cybersecurity is built and delivered—moving from reactive defense to proactive, AI-first protection.

With this seed funding, the company is set to accelerate its mission of making generative AI not only powerful but resilient, reliable, and safe.
