VyomIC Secures ₹14 Cr Pre-Seed Funding to Build Sovereign LEO-Based Navigation System

Chennai-based deep-tech startup VyomIC has raised ₹14 crore (~$1.6 million) in a pre-seed round led by Speciale Invest, with participation from BYT Capital and DeVC.

The fresh funds will support the development of its Low Earth Orbit (LEO)-based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) payload, a spaceborne demonstration mission, and team expansion across engineering and business functions.

Founded by Lokesh Kabdal, Vibhor Jain, and Anurag Patil, VyomIC is building a sovereign satellite constellation that delivers centimeter-level positioning and nanosecond-level timing. Unlike existing systems such as GPS or GLONASS, which are foreign-controlled, VyomIC’s solution is designed to ensure strategic independence, security, and accuracy for India and global users.

The company’s proprietary LEO-PNT system combines atomic clocks, encrypted signal layers, and AI-driven orbit determination algorithms to deliver jamming-resistant and spoofing-proof navigation signals. This makes it particularly suited for defence, aerospace, telecom, financial systems, and autonomous mobility in dense urban or GNSS-denied environments.

VyomIC emphasizes that its architecture provides faster convergence, higher signal strength, and wider coverage compared to traditional satellite navigation, setting the foundation for the next generation of secure, real-time navigation services.

Looking ahead, VyomIC plans to scale its constellation globally, enabling industries and governments to access independent, resilient, and high-integrity navigation systems for mission-critical operations.
