Agriculture drone startup SUIND has secured ₹20.5 crore (approximately $2.2 million) in a seed funding round led by Transition VC, with participation from IIMA Ventures. The fresh investment will help the company accelerate the deployment of its autonomous drone technologies across agriculture and industrial applications.
The newly raised capital will be utilized to expand the commercial rollout of SUIND’s agriculture drone platform, strengthen the development of its autonomous surveillance and infrastructure inspection drone, enhance its proprietary autonomy technology, and grow its engineering team.
Founded in 2020 by Kunal Shrivastava and Kevin Kleber, SUIND develops autonomous unmanned aerial systems powered by advanced computer vision technology. Unlike conventional drones that rely heavily on GPS, the company’s drones use vision-based navigation, enabling them to operate efficiently in low-altitude and GPS-denied environments.
SUIND has already commercially deployed its DGCA-certified autonomous spraying drone, Bumblebee, across farms and plantations in India. The startup is also building WASP, an autonomous aerial platform designed for industrial monitoring, security, surveillance, infrastructure inspection, and defence applications.
Over the next 12 to 24 months, the company plans to significantly scale the manufacturing and deployment of Bumblebee while preparing WASP for its commercial launch.
India’s agriculture drone sector has been witnessing rapid growth, fueled by increasing adoption of precision farming technologies and supportive government initiatives promoting drone usage in agriculture. With this latest funding, SUIND aims to strengthen its position in the evolving drone ecosystem and expand the application of autonomous aerial systems beyond agriculture.
The startup competes with several emerging players in the sector, including Marut Drones, Garuda Aerospace, IoTechWorld Avigation, BharatRohan, and Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, as the demand for intelligent drone solutions continues to rise across agriculture and industrial sectors.
