In a world where digital access can define a student’s future, Primebook is on a mission to level the playing field. The Delhi-based startup, known for its Android-powered laptops tailored for learners, has raised $2 million in a pre-Series A round, a mix of equity and debt. The latest round drew support from Inflection Point Ventures, Auxano Capital, NexG Devices, and notable angels like EaseMyTrip’s co-founder Rikant Pittie and Bhavesh Gupta.
This marks a significant step forward for Primebook, which previously secured $1 million in its seed round in December 2022 from Kundan Group, Brindavan Group, and Infotel Business Solution. It also gained national attention after appearing on Shark Tank India Season 2, where the founders clinched a deal worth Rs 75 lakhs from Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal.
Co-founded in 2018 by Aman Verma and Chitranshu Mahant, Primebook is driven by a clear and compelling vision: to make computing accessible to every student in India, especially those in underserved tier II, III, and IV cities.
At the heart of their innovation is PrimeOS, a custom Android-based operating system designed specifically for learning. The system offers Android app compatibility and allows users to multitask with ease — an intuitive leap for the millions already familiar with smartphones but new to desktop computing.
Their sleek, affordable laptops are not just tech products; they are learning companions. With a focus on blended and online education, Primebook provides students with a smooth digital learning experience, combining hardware reliability with software simplicity.
The newly raised funds will be channeled into R&D and product innovation, brand awareness, and scaling business operations, the company said in a statement. Already, Primebook claims to hold a 5% market share in the sub-Rs 20,000 laptop category, and has been growing at 2x year-on-year.
In a country where digital tools are no longer optional but essential, Primebook is not just selling laptops—it’s offering a bridge to opportunity.
