Matiks raises $3.1M in pre-Series A funding led by Tanglin Ventures

Bengaluru-based maths-focussed mobile gaming platform Matiks has raised $3.1 million (₹27 crore) in a pre-Series A round led by Tanglin Ventures, with participation from Info Edge Ventures and prominent angel investors including Aman Gupta (boAt), Gaurav Munjal & Roman Saini (Unacademy), and Anil Goteti.

The fresh funds will be used to expand the team, boost marketing, enhance product offerings, and enter new geographies, the company said in a statement.

Founded in September 2024 by Sudhanshu Bhatia, Mohan Kumar, and Sushant Timmapur, Matiks offers interactive mobile games that test users’ mathematical skills while enabling them to compete in real-time.

Key features include:

  • Live 1v1 and multiplayer math duels

  • Daily challenges & weekly contests

  • Global leaderboards & progress tracking

  • Community-driven engagement via Discord & friends network

  • A paid ‘Creators Programme’ for building communities on the platform

Currently, Matiks has 1 lakh users and has crossed 50,000 downloads on the Google Play Store.

With the Indian gaming industry projected to grow from $3.8B today to $9.2B by FY29, Matiks is positioning itself at the intersection of edutainment, gamification, and competitive skill-building.
