Dial4242 Raises ₹9 Cr to Accelerate India’s Emergency Response Network

In a country where timely medical intervention can often mean the difference between life and death, Mumbai-based Dial4242 is on a mission to make ambulances more accessible, more reliable, and a lot faster.

The tech-enabled ambulance startup has just raised ₹9 crore (approximately $1.04 million) in a pre-Series A round led by IAN Group, with backing from BioAngels, NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore, and other strategic angels. This marks a crucial step forward for the startup as it aims to bring down ambulance response times and widen the safety net for millions of Indians.

Founded in 2016 by Jeetendra Lalwani, Nilesh Mahambre, and Atin Verma, Dial4242 operates a vast ambulance network across 850+ cities, leveraging real-time tech to track, dispatch, and coordinate emergency vehicles 24×7.

Their ambition? To cut down ambulance turnaround time from 12 minutes to under 8, expand to underserved areas, and roll out a low-cost subscription plan for free emergency access.

“We’ve seen firsthand how a few lost minutes can change everything,” says co-founder Jeetendra Lalwani. “Our goal is simple — no one should have to wait in an emergency.”

Dial4242’s tech-first, asset-light model enables scalability at speed. The startup has already partnered with companies like Amazon, Zomato, and Swiggy, offering ambulance support to gig workers who often fall through the cracks of traditional healthcare systems.

This fresh infusion of capital will also go toward enhancing tech infrastructure, strengthening leadership hiring, and expanding its network of medical centers in regions that are often left behind.

Back in September 2023, the company had raised ₹1 crore in seed funding led by G Vamshi Raju, Starfish Ventures, and a group of Hyderabad-based angels. This pre-Series A round signals growing investor confidence in the critical role Dial4242 plays in India’s evolving healthtech landscape.

Competing with platforms like MeduLance, HelpNow, ESahai, AmbiPalm, and Mo Ambulance, Dial4242 is carving a niche with its focus on efficiency, partnerships, and affordability.

As India continues to build a more responsive healthcare ecosystem, Dial4242 is proving that innovation in emergencies doesn’t just save time — it saves lives.
