Defence Drone Startup Unmannd Secures $2 Million Pre-Seed Funding

Bengaluru-based defence technology startup Unmannd has raised $2 million in a pre-seed round led by Speciale Invest and Accel, marking one of the largest early-stage financings in India’s deeptech defence sector this year.

The capital will be deployed to commercialise its heavy-duty drone platform Titan, accelerate the development of its anti-drone interceptor system Fury, expand its engineering team, and explore international defence export opportunities.

Founded in February 2025 by Yeshwanth Reddy and Hemaditya Prasad, Unmannd is focused on building autonomous aerial systems designed for logistics and security in defence operations.

Its flagship product, Titan, is a heavy-lift drone built for carrying and delivering supplies, already qualified by the Indian defence forces—a key milestone that positions the startup for upcoming procurement opportunities. The company’s second product, Fury, is an advanced drone interceptor system capable of identifying hostile UAVs up to 30 km away and deploying high-speed interceptors traveling at 300 km/h to neutralise threats.

The funding highlights growing investor confidence in India’s defence-tech ecosystem, which is attracting both venture capital and strategic interest. Recently, Raphe mPhibr raised $100 million in a round led by General Catalyst, underscoring the momentum in the sector.

With its dual focus on logistics automation and aerial security, Unmannd is positioning itself as a strategic enabler for modern defence infrastructure, while also eyeing opportunities in global markets.
