The Chance2Sports Foundation has embarked on an ambitious ₹25 crore initiative to discover and nurture India’s untapped sporting talent at the grassroots level. The campaign officially began with a fundraising lunch at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) on October 11, drawing sports leaders, changemakers, and enthusiasts together to champion one message — a child’s financial background should never define their sporting destiny.
The five-year plan, titled the “NextGen Super 30” project, aims to identify and support 300 young athletes from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Through structured talent identification and holistic athlete development, the initiative seeks to bridge the accessibility gap in India’s sports ecosystem.
Champions Backing Champions
The event witnessed strong endorsements from sporting figures such as Naval Pandole, Executive Committee member at CCI, and Geoff Davenport, the seven-time World Masters Squash Champion.
Pandole praised the foundation’s mission, noting that Chance2Sports’ approach “goes beyond charity — it creates opportunity.” He added, “These young athletes don’t need handouts; they need a fair platform to prove their ability.”
Echoing this sentiment, Davenport highlighted the global relevance of structured grassroots programs, saying, “True excellence in sports begins with access and consistent training. Chance2Sports isn’t chasing one-off success stories — it’s creating a pathway for sustained excellence.”
A Proven Record of Impact
Over the past three years, Chance2Sports’ athletes have already demonstrated remarkable success:
-
National Rank 1 in Girls U-15 and U-17 categories
-
National Rank 2 in Girls U-19
-
Indian representation at the Asian Juniors and World Junior Championships 2025
-
Medal winners at the National Games
-
Multiple Top-10 national rankings across junior divisions
“Our approach is proactive — we go out and find talent rather than wait for it to come to us,” said Abhinav Sinha, Co-founder of Chance2Sports Foundation. “With the ₹25 crore mission, we’ll test nearly 3,000 children over five years and provide elite training to 300 of them. That’s 300 dreams turned into achievable goals.”
Technology-Led Talent Scouting
The foundation’s model is deeply data-driven. Using an app-based, technology platform, Chance2Sports evaluates players over a 6–9 month period, tracking progress and performance metrics. In the last nine months alone, the team has assessed over 400 young athletes using this structured, analytics-backed framework.
The ₹25-Crore Game Plan
Funds raised will fuel a comprehensive talent pipeline — from identification camps to high-performance coaching. Around 150 athletes will receive world-class support, including nutrition, equipment, mental conditioning, and sports science guidance. The ultimate vision: to produce India’s first World Junior Squash Gold Medalist emerging from a community-led sports initiative.
Co-founder Chetan Desai summed up the foundation’s purpose: “Today’s sports ecosystem rewards those who can afford training. We’re reversing that equation — merit over money. India’s next champions could come from anywhere, and we’re going to find them.”
Looking Ahead
With the fundraising drive gaining momentum, Chance2Sports plans to expand its footprint nationwide. By 2030, the foundation envisions a future where India’s top athletes emerge from every corner of the country, making grassroots empowerment the cornerstone of national sports development.
