Care Dale, a Bengaluru-based water wellness startup, has raised ₹1.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by ajvc, the SEBI-registered pre-seed fund founded by Aviral Bhatnagar.
The fresh capital is earmarked for strengthening the startup’s Research & Development (R&D) and accelerating its go-to-market strategy. Care Dale aims to expand its footprint across Indian households, addressing the growing concern over the impact of water quality on personal health.
Solving a 70% Market Problem: The Hard Water Crisis
In India, approximately 70% of households receive hard water, which is rich in minerals like calcium and magnesium. While safe for some uses, hard water is a primary culprit behind chronic hair fall, scalp irritation, and skin dryness.
Founded by Duhita Wani and Roshni Kar—both alumni of IIT Kharagpur—Care Dale was born from their personal struggle with water-related health issues after moving to Bengaluru. Leveraging their background in engineering, the founders developed CareTec™ Advanced Filtration, a proprietary technology designed specifically for Indian water conditions.
High-Growth “Organic” Traction
Despite being in the market for only five months, Care Dale has demonstrated exceptional product-market fit:
-
Revenue: Reached an Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of approximately ₹5 crore.
-
Reach: Currently present in over 6,000 homes across India.
-
Growth Driver: The company claims its rapid scaling has been fueled largely by organic demand and word-of-mouth from customers reporting up to a 50% reduction in hair breakage.
The Product: Science-Backed Bathroom Filtration
Care Dale’s flagship products—tap and shower filters—are designed to neutralize chlorine and hardness minerals without reducing water pressure.
-
Zero Maintenance: The filters require no electricity and are easy to install as a DIY project.
-
Sustainability: Each cartridge lasts for roughly 25,000 liters, and the design uses significantly less plastic than traditional imported filters.
