BorderPlus, a cross-border workforce mobility platform, has raised Rs 60 crore ($7 million) in a funding round led by Owl Ventures. The round also saw participation from prominent entrepreneurs, including Binny Bansal, Mithun Sacheti, Ritesh Agarwal, Aakash Chaudhary, and Apoorva Patni.
This marks the company’s first institutional funding round and will be instrumental in advancing its mission to create seamless international career opportunities for skilled Indian workers, starting with healthcare professionals and nurses.
Founded in January this year by Mayank Kumar, co-founder of upGrad, and Ayush Mathur, a former senior leader at OYO, BorderPlus offers an end-to-end solution for professionals seeking overseas employment. The platform provides comprehensive support, including finishing school training, language learning, visa processing, employment opportunities, cultural integration, local qualification recognition, financing, and talent leasing.
BorderPlus has already begun training its first batch of nurses, equipping them with the necessary skills and certifications to secure global placements. The company’s holistic approach—covering everything from language training to financial assistance—aims to address critical barriers that Indian professionals face when pursuing international careers.
With this fresh funding, BorderPlus is set to scale its operations, expand its services to more sectors, and build a stronger ecosystem to support Indian talent in navigating global opportunities.
