Deep-tech robotics startup Armatrix has secured $2.1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by pi Ventures. The round also saw participation from Inuka Capital, Boundless Ventures, Boost VC, Turbostart, and returning investor gradCapital.
According to the company, the fresh funds will be used to complete the development of its proprietary snake-like flexible robotic arm technology. Armatrix also plans to expand its engineering and R&D teams and fast-track pilot deployments with industrial customers.
Founded in 2024 by Vishrant Dave, Prateesh Awasthi, and Ayush Ranjan, the Bengaluru-based startup is building hyper-redundant robotic manipulators designed to work in hazardous and confined industrial environments. These robots are aimed at reducing the need for human entry into dangerous spaces.
Industries such as shipbuilding, nuclear energy, oil and gas, and aviation often require inspection and maintenance of critical infrastructure including storage tanks, fuel tanks, ship hulls, and reactors. Such tasks typically involve confined space work, where fatal injuries have been reported.
Armatrix’s core technology focuses on reachability and advanced actuation systems. Its robotic arm is designed for high flexibility, allowing it to navigate tight and complex spaces. The system also includes modular end-effectors and an AI-based navigation platform that enables real-time adaptability during operations.
Market data suggests strong growth potential in this segment. The global robotics maintenance market was valued at $41.66 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $150 billion by 2032, highlighting increasing demand for automation in industrial maintenance.
Speaking on the development, Vishrant Dave, Co-founder and CEO of Armatrix Automations, said the company aims to shift industries from reactive and high-cost maintenance practices to a proactive, zero-downtime model. He added that the funding will help the startup move from proof of concept to early adopters and validate its platform in real-world industrial scenarios.
Looking ahead, Armatrix plans to position itself as a globally competitive deep-tech robotics company, building AI-native, high-performance robotic systems focused on safety, precision, and efficiency in mission-critical industrial operations.
