AgriTech Startup MapMyCrop Secures $1.8M to Expand Precision Farming Solutions

MapMyCrop, a farm management software startup, has raised $1.8 million in a seed funding round led by YourNest Venture Capital, with participation from angel investors, including Eaglewings Ventures. The funding was secured as part of the YourNest-SanchiConnect Velocity Program 2024.

The startup had previously raised an undisclosed amount in the same round from Startup Wise Guys and other investors.

MapMyCrop plans to use the fresh capital to scale operations, finalize pilot projects, enhance its sales and operations team, and further develop its technology platform, the company stated in a press release.

Revolutionizing AgriTech with AI and Satellite Insights

Founded in 2021 by Swapnil Jadhav and Rajesh Shirole, MapMyCrop offers a 360-degree imagery agro suite, consolidating key agricultural data into a single, user-friendly platform. By integrating satellite imagery, IoT, and AI-driven insights, the startup enables farmers and enterprises to monitor, predict, and optimize crop health with high precision.

Currently, MapMyCrop supports over 4.7 million farmers worldwide and partners with global organizations like the US FDA for crop monitoring and sustainability initiatives. It is also gearing up to launch new AI-powered solutions, including a farm credit scoring tool and a forest monitoring system.

Global Expansion and Market Potential

With a focus on emerging markets in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia, MapMyCrop aims to strengthen its footprint while deepening its presence in the US and Europe. The company is also working on localized AI-driven solutions tailored to region-specific agricultural challenges.

The global agritech market is projected to reach $45 billion by 2028, and MapMyCrop positions itself as a leading player in precision farming technology. Its five-suite agro solution includes onboarding, crop monitoring, detection, prediction, and sustainability tools, offering automated crop field boundary mapping, crop type identification, and historical land-use data for better farm management.

With its latest funding, MapMyCrop is set to accelerate its mission of making precision farming accessible to farmers of all scales, driving innovation in sustainable agriculture globally.
