Sunfox Technologies Raises $7 Million Series A to Scale Spandan Cardiac Diagnostics Platform

Dehradun-based medtech company Sunfox Technologies has raised $7 million (approximately ₹67 crore) in a Series A funding round led by Ashish Kacholia, Lashit Sanghvi, Alchemy Capital and 3one4 Capital. The fresh capital will support the company’s expansion across India and global markets while strengthening its portable cardiac-diagnostics infrastructure at the grassroots level.

The round marks the largest fundraise in Sunfox’s history and comes as the company looks to scale its flagship Spandan portable ECG platform across consumer, clinical, institutional and public-health settings.

Funding to Drive India and Global Expansion

Sunfox will use the Series A capital to deepen its presence across India, build global go-to-market capabilities and expand its organisational capacity. The company also plans to increase investments in research and development, clinical evidence, engineering and new cardiac technologies.

Internationally, Sunfox is developing regulatory, distribution and commercial capabilities across priority markets, including the United States, Europe and Africa.

The company currently has regulatory approvals in India, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa, while pursuing clearances in the US and European Union.

Building Portable Cardiac Diagnostics

Sunfox began as an R&D venture in Uttarakhand in 2016, following the loss of a friend of its founders during college. Founders Rajat Jain, Arpit Jain, Sabit Rawat, Nitin Chandola and Saurabh Badola started exploring how technology could help improve timely cardiac assessment and reduce the time taken to access care following a heart attack.

The initiative eventually evolved into Sunfox Technologies and its flagship Spandan platform.

Over the past decade, the company has developed a portfolio of portable ECG solutions designed for personal, clinical and institutional use. The platform supports applications ranging from at-home ECG recording to hospitals, clinics, public-health programmes and remote-care networks.

Smartphone-Enabled ECG and Remote Review

Spandan allows ECGs to be captured using portable devices connected to smartphones, with recordings shared for remote interpretation by doctors.

In clinics, homes and public-health settings, frontline health workers can capture ECG readings, share them with remote doctors, flag critical cardiac patterns and escalate cases for further treatment. The model is designed to reduce waiting and travel time, particularly in locations where access to specialist cardiac care is limited.

Sunfox also provides Spandan One, its digital service layer for remote ECG review, case coordination and tele-ECG network management.

60,000 Devices Deployed Across India

According to the company, around 60,000 Spandan devices have been deployed across India, reaching more than 20,000 villages across states and Union Territories.

The company said its Spandan One platform has been used to screen approximately 5 million patients annually, expanding access to cardiac assessment across diverse healthcare environments.

In public-health systems, the technology can operate through a hub-and-spoke model, where healthcare workers at Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres record ECGs locally and share them with doctors or cardiologists at district-level hubs for review.

Global Ambitions

Sunfox has expanded its presence to more than 15 countries, with its products reaching healthcare providers across more than 1,800 PIN codes in India, according to the company.

The company said its longer-term strategy is to make portable ECG technology more accessible across consumer, professional, institutional and public-health settings while building the regulatory and commercial infrastructure required for international expansion.

Sunfox has also received visibility on national and international platforms, including recognition from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of India Droupadi Murmu, French President Emmanuel Macron and philanthropist Bill Gates.

The company also gained national attention after securing investment from all five Sharks during the first season of Shark Tank India.

Investor Confidence in Indian MedTech

The Series A round brings together prominent investors from public markets and venture capital, reflecting growing investor interest in Indian deep-tech healthcare businesses.

Ashish Kacholia, who led the round, said the investment reflects Sunfox’s focus on making quality healthcare more accessible, particularly at the grassroots level.

Lashit Sanghvi, Co-Founder of Alchemy Capital Management, said Sunfox has built a strong foundation in cardiac diagnostics and has the potential to scale from India to global markets, with innovation, accessibility and long-term value creation at the centre of its growth.

Scaling the Spandan Platform

With the new capital, Sunfox plans to strengthen the Spandan portfolio while investing in clinical evidence, engineering and new cardiac technologies.

Founder and CEO Rajat Jain said the funding will provide the resources required to take Sunfox’s work from Dehradun to a larger stage, with investments planned in R&D, India expansion and capabilities needed for global markets.

The company’s broader objective remains centred on bringing cardiac assessment closer to patients and healthcare teams, enabling appropriate medical action to begin earlier.
