Lavni Ventures Closes Rs 200 Crore Fund II to Back Deep-Tech Health and Climate Startups

Early-stage venture capital firm Lavni Ventures has closed its second deep-tech impact fund, securing its target corpus of Rs 200 crore, or approximately $21 million, in committed capital.

The closure comes a year after the first close of Fund II in August 2025. The fund also retains a green-shoe option of Rs 100 crore, which could increase its overall corpus if exercised.

Fund II builds on the firm’s first fund, which has been fully invested. Both funds are based on Lavni Ventures’ focus on backing Indian deep-tech founders developing globally scalable solutions in the health and climate sectors while operating in a capital-efficient manner.

With the target corpus now committed, Lavni Ventures will shift its focus towards deployment and identifying early-stage founders in India working on technologies that can address large health and climate challenges and scale globally.

Lavni Ventures Makes First Three Investments

Fund II has already completed its first three investments.

The portfolio includes Padcare Labs, which works on recycling sanitary waste; Monitra Healthcare, which develops remote cardiac monitoring devices; and Vidcare, which is building portable diagnostic tests for use at home.

These investments continue the firm’s approach of building long-term partnerships with founders, similar to the hands-on support provided through Fund I.

Lavni Ventures said Fund II will focus on foundational technologies across the health and climate sectors.

The fund plans to invest Rs 2 crore to Rs 6 crore, or approximately $210,000 to $630,000, in individual opportunities at the Seed stage.

For follow-on investments, fresh Series A rounds and later stages, the fund plans to deploy Rs 8 crore to Rs 15 crore, equivalent to around $850,000 to $1.5 million.

Focus on Indian Deep-Tech Founders

Lavni Ventures was founded in 2020 and focuses on early-stage investments in deep-tech companies working on health and climate solutions.

The firm’s investment approach is built around the belief that Indian founders can develop technology-driven solutions for global markets without requiring excessive amounts of capital.

With Fund II now reaching its targeted Rs 200 crore corpus, Lavni Ventures plans to continue identifying companies at an early stage and support their development through subsequent stages of growth.

The firm’s latest investments in Padcare Labs, Monitra Healthcare and Vidcare reflect its focus on technologies addressing healthcare delivery, medical monitoring, diagnostics and environmental challenges.

Fund II Structure

Fund II is a scheme of Lavni Ventures Trust, a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund.

The fund has a committed target corpus of Rs 200 crore and retains a green-shoe option of Rs 100 crore.

With the fundraising completed, Lavni Ventures’ focus will now move towards deploying capital into more Indian deep-tech startups across health and climate and supporting their journey from early-stage innovation to globally scalable businesses.
