Lenskart Solutions has increased its stake in Dimension NXG, the parent company of extended reality (XR) startup AjnaLens, to 9.01% after investing an additional Rs 8 crore in the company.
According to Lenskart’s regulatory filing, the eyewear company acquired a 1.8% stake in Dimension NXG for Rs 7.99 crore. The transaction was completed on September 13, 2026.
This marks Lenskart’s third stake purchase in Dimension NXG this year. The company acquired an additional 0.68% stake in February and another 1.69% stake in July.
Following the three transactions, Lenskart’s holding in Dimension NXG has increased from 4.84% to 9.01%. The eyewear major has invested a total of Rs 18.5 crore to acquire the additional 4.17% stake through these transactions.
Focus on Smart Eyewear Technology
Lenskart said the latest investment will strengthen its strategic association with the XR, artificial intelligence (AI) and smart wearable technology ecosystem.
The company also expects the investment to support technology-led opportunities in smart eyewear as it expands its focus on connected and AI-powered products.
Lenskart first invested in AjnaLens in July 2025 as part of a partnership to develop AI-powered smart glasses. The collaboration combines Lenskart’s expertise in frame design and engineering with AjnaLens’ capabilities in XR technology.
AjnaLens Builds XR Solutions
Founded in 2014 by Pankaj Raut, Abhijit Patil and Abhishek Tomar, AjnaLens develops hardware and software solutions based on extended reality technology.
The startup caters to sectors including defence and enterprises, with its technology spanning XR-based hardware and software solutions.
Its parent company, Dimension NXG, reported a 35% decline in turnover to Rs 10.36 crore in FY26 from Rs 15.97 crore in FY24.
Lenskart Expands Smart Eyewear Portfolio
The latest investment comes as Lenskart increases its focus on smart eyewear.
The company has launched products such as Phonic audio glasses and is also working on AI-powered smart glasses. Lenskart has partnered with Qualcomm for the technology stack for its smart glasses.
The continued investment in Dimension NXG gives Lenskart a larger stake in the technology ecosystem behind AjnaLens as it looks to build further capabilities across smart eyewear, AI and extended reality.
With its latest Rs 7.99 crore transaction, Lenskart has now raised its stake in Dimension NXG to 9.01%, following three investments made during 2026.
