Kolkata-based spiritual and devotion platform Utsav has raised Rs 36 crore ($3.8 million) in a Series A funding round led by Atomic Capital. Existing investors India Quotient and Equanimity Investments also participated in the round.
The latest investment takes Utsav’s total capital raised to Rs 42 crore, including the Rs 6.35 crore it raised in January 2025.
The startup plans to use the fresh capital to expand its temple network, strengthen its technology and fulfilment capabilities, and grow its team.
Expanding Digital Access to Devotional Services
Founded by Sourajit Basu, Ankita De and Prajata Samanta, Utsav works with temple priests, scholars and acharyas to provide devotional services through its platform.
Its offerings include puja bookings, pujari consultations, e-prasad, consecrated prasad and personalised rituals.
The platform is also looking to serve the Indian diaspora by enabling devotees living outside India to participate in rituals conducted at temples across the country.
Utsav co-founder and CEO Sourajit Basu said the company’s aim is to make devotional experiences more accessible while maintaining their authenticity and sanctity.
Focus on Technology and Fulfilment
Over the next 12 to 24 months, Utsav plans to expand its temple network and service portfolio while investing in personalisation, discovery, logistics and fulfilment.
The company said its revenue has grown 8X since its previous funding round of Rs 6.35 crore in February 2025. It currently fulfils around 2.5 lakh orders per month.
The new funding is expected to help Utsav scale its operations as demand for digitally enabled devotional services continues to grow.
Competition in Spiritual Tech
Utsav operates in India’s growing spiritual and devotion technology market, where several platforms are combining traditional religious services with digital access.
The startup competes with platforms including Vama.app, AppsForBharat, Astrotalk, Astroyogi and DevDham, among others.
With the latest Series A funding, Utsav is looking to expand its reach across India’s temple ecosystem while building services that can connect devotees in India and overseas with religious experiences and rituals.
