Cargo Matters’ Umesh Padala commits RS 2 crore CSR fund to sponsor EV charging infrastructure across Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi, May 2026: Umesh Padala, Chairman of Cargo Matters, has announced a Rs 2 crore Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment to support electric vehicle charging infrastructure across educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh.

Under the initiative, Padala will sponsor the installation of 3 units of 60 kW EV chargers and 3 units of 120 kW EV chargers at universities and educational institutions willing to participate in the programme. The initiative is intended to encourage EV adoption by making charging infrastructure accessible within campus environments.

In addition to sponsoring the charging infrastructure, Padala will also cover electricity expenses of up to 10,000 units per charger every month, enabling students and faculty at participating institutions to access EV charging facilities at effectively no cost.

The programme is open to universities and educational institutions across Andhra Pradesh that wish to host the infrastructure as part of their campus facilities. The initiative is designed to support institutions interested in promoting sustainable transportation and cleaner mobility practices within their communities.

Speaking about the initiative, Padala said the electric vehicles are becoming a part of everyday life, and educational institutions are where future generations build habits and perspectives.

“By making EV charging accessible and free within campuses, we hope to create familiarity and confidence around clean mobility. This initiative is a small but meaningful contribution towards a more sustainable future,” he added.

The Rs 2 crore CSR commitment reflects Padala’s broader vision towards sustainability, clean mobility infrastructure, and socially responsible development through Cargo Matters’ long-term environmental initiatives.
