Priya Mohan Appointed COO of JoulesToWatts to Drive AI Strategy

JoulesToWatts (J2W), the Bengaluru-based talent management and IT services firm, has appointed former General Catalyst partner Priya Mohan as its Chief Operating Officer. The move signals a major push into AI-driven enterprise solutions for the company’s global clientele.

In her new role, Mohan is tasked with overseeing the entire lifecycle of J2W’s AI implementation. Her mandate covers everything from initial diagnostics and strategy design to change management and final outcome delivery.

A Veteran of the VC and Tech Ecosystem

Mohan enters the COO role with over 20 years of experience spanning investment banking, operations, and venture capital. Her recent tenure at General Catalyst was defined by her work within India’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem and the evolving enterprise AI landscape.

Her career trajectory includes several high-profile milestones:

  • Venture Highway: Served as Managing Partner, leading investments in key startups such as FamPay and BetterPlace.

  • General Catalyst: Joined the global firm following its merger with Venture Highway.

  • Vidyartha: Co-founded the edtech startup, which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2017.

Scaling AI-Enabled Hubs

Founded in 2015 by Priti Sawant, JoulesToWatts has grown into a significant player in the IT services sector, employing over 3,000 people across India and the United States. The firm specializes in managed services and “flexi-staffing,” with a specific focus on building AI-enabled hubs for Fortune 500 companies.

“Priya will lead the full lifecycle of our AI implementation… from initial diagnostics and strategy design to execution and outcome delivery,” the company stated, highlighting the technical nature of her operational role.

The appointment comes at a time when GCCs in India are shifting from back-office support to high-value innovation centers, requiring the specific blend of investment foresight and operational scaling that Mohan brings to the table.
