Burma Burma Raises Rs 38 Crore to Expand Premium Dining Presence Across India

Burmese cuisine restaurant chain Burma Burma has raised over Rs 38 crore (around $4 million) in a private funding round, valuing the company at approximately Rs 500 crore ($53 million).

The round saw participation from existing investor Negen Capital, along with new investors Endurance Capital and Coheron Wealth.

Expansion Plans

The company plans to use the fresh funds to expand into new cities while also strengthening its presence in existing markets. It aims to grow steadily, with a focus on maintaining consistent food quality and customer experience.

Building a Niche Dining Brand

Founded in 2012, Burma Burma has built a strong presence in the premium casual dining segment with its vegetarian Burmese cuisine. The brand currently operates 21 outlets across cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Chandigarh.

Strong Financial Performance

Burma Burma has reported annual recurring revenue of over Rs 200 crore, with growth of around 50 percent CAGR over the past three years.

In FY25:

  • Operating revenue increased to Rs 106 crore, up from Rs 72 crore in the previous fiscal year
  • Outlet-level profitability exceeded 21 percent
  • EBITDA margin stood at around 8 percent

Funding and Ownership

Before this round, the company had raised around $7 million in funding, with Negen Capital and Bbigplas Poly Pvt Ltd as key investors.

Co-founders Chirag Chhajer and Ankit Gupta together hold 88 percent ownership in the company.

With fresh capital and strong financial performance, Burma Burma is looking to strengthen its position as a leading niche dining brand in India, while continuing to scale thoughtfully across markets.
