Delhi-based beverage retail startup Basil Health has raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round from investors including Whiteboard Capital, Brigade REAP, and Barbershop Fund. The round also saw participation from angel investors Deep Bajaj, Siddharth Kothari, and others.
According to the company, the fresh funding will be used to expand into more cities, strengthen its supply chain, and invest in brand building and team growth.
Building an Organized Fresh Beverage Network
Founded in 2023 by Harshita Kejriwal, Akshay Chaudhari, and Karan Dwivedi, Basil Health is building a clean and fresh beverage retail brand through a network of compact kiosks and automated beverage machines.
The startup focuses on creating an organized and scalable system for fresh beverages, aiming to deliver café-quality drinks through automation and technology.
IoT-Powered Beverage Technology
Basil Health uses in-house IoT-enabled systems that blend fresh ingredients directly in the cup. This technology allows the company to deliver standardized, café-style beverages while maintaining real-time monitoring and operational control.
The company says that its technology-driven model helps ensure consistent quality, improved operational efficiency, and better margins, while also allowing the brand to expand beyond traditional retail formats.
Expansion Plans Across India
Currently, Basil Health operates over 70 kiosks and automated machines across three key markets, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Chandigarh.
Its retail format combines compact 50 sq. ft. kiosks with 8 sq. ft. plug-and-play automated beverage machines, which can be installed in locations such as offices, hospitals, universities, and shopping malls.
With the latest funding, the startup plans to scale its network to 1,000 touchpoints over the next three years, using a mix of kiosks and automated machines to expand its presence across India.
By combining technology, automation, and a compact retail model, Basil Health aims to build a nationwide network for fresh beverages and tap into the growing demand for convenient and healthy drink options.
