Alimento Agro Foods raises Rs 52 Cr to scale MOM and Gimi Gimi brands

India’s appetite for convenient, flavour-forward food is only growing — and Alimento Agro Foods wants a bigger seat at that table.

The packaged food startup, which operates brands MOM Meal of the Moment and Gimi Gimi, has raised Rs 52 crore ($5.8 million) in a Series A funding round led by IvyCap Ventures. The fresh capital comes as both brands witness steady demand across India’s fast-evolving instant and ready-to-eat food market.

Founded by Prateek Bhagchandka and Mugdha Bhagchandka, Alimento is building in two distinct but high-growth segments. MOM Meal of the Moment caters to urban consumers seeking quick, tasty meal solutions, carving out a presence in the ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook space. On the other hand, Gimi Gimi taps into India’s rising fascination with global flavours, positioning itself as a Korean-style noodle brand made for Indian palates.

With the new funding, Alimento plans to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen its distribution network, and invest in new product development across both brands. Scaling beyond current markets and improving retail reach will be key priorities in the next phase of growth.

As competition intensifies between legacy FMCG giants and emerging D2C brands, Alimento Agro Foods is betting on execution, distribution, and consumer taste trends to build a portfolio of mass-market food brands in the convenience food space.
