Legal technology startup Nyayanidhi has successfully closed a $2 million seed funding round, signaling a major investment in the future of India’s legal system. The round was led by premier venture capital firm 3one4 Capital, with significant participation from DeVC, PeerCheque, and Force Ventures. Notable angel investors, including Jar co-founder Nishchay Ag, also participated.
Addressing India’s Legal Crisis
The funding comes as India grapples with a staggering challenge: over 50 million pending court cases and 20 million new filings annually, placing immense strain on courts and advocates. Nyayanidhi is positioning itself to be the critical technology layer to address this.
“India’s legal ecosystem is massive yet fragmented. Our goal is to empower advocates and courts with technology that drives efficiency and trust to tackle the monumental case backlog,” said the founders in a joint statement.
The AI-Powered Solution
Founded in 2024 by Adithya LHS, Chakshu Masagali, and Pratik Pany, Nyayanidhi has developed an advanced litigation operating system that leverages Artificial Intelligence and automation to standardize legal workflows.
- 10X Speed & Accuracy: The platform uses AI to automate and accelerate critical tasks like legal documentation, translations, and filings, making them up to ten times faster and more accurate than traditional methods.
- Procedural Intelligence: The AI system combines deep legal expertise with procedural intelligence, offering end-to-end support for advocates in drafting, filing, and real-time case tracking.
- Proven Traction: The company has already demonstrated strong adoption, processing thousands of cases across various jurisdictions through pilot programs in High Courts and enterprise collaborations.
Strategic Use of Funds and Market Impact
The $2 million capital infusion will be deployed for three key strategic objectives:
- Scale Operations: Expanding Nyayanidhi’s operations across multiple Indian states to broaden its impact.
- AI Infrastructure: Strengthening its proprietary AI infrastructure to further deepen product capabilities, including multilingual legal drafting support.
- Advocate Network: Expanding its network of advocate partners to ensure high-quality, tech-enabled legal service delivery.
With the Indian LegalTech market projected to grow rapidly, Nyayanidhi is focused on bridging the gap between traditional legal practice and technology, positioning the startup at the forefront of India’s LegalTech transformation.
