Toytech Startup Snooplay Secures ₹8 Crore in Pre-Series A1 Round to Launch AI-Powered Toy Discovery & Resale Products

Noida-based toy marketplace Snooplay has raised ₹8 crore in a pre-Series A1 funding round led by Pravek Family Office, with participation from several strategic angel investors. The company plans to utilize the funds to launch two proprietary tech products designed to transform how India discovers, buys, and recirculates toys.

This funding round follows Snooplay’s earlier seed round of $535,000, and marks a significant step in the startup’s vision to build an AI-powered ecosystem for toys. According to the company, the upcoming products will integrate AI, data, and empathy to simplify and enhance the toy shopping experience while also enabling guilt-free resale.

Founded in 2019 by Aanchal Mahajan and Brij Raj Singh, Snooplay offers a full-stack platform that helps users discover the right toys based on developmental needs and interests, and trade them in for store credits once they are no longer in use. The platform is powered by its proprietary Toy Intelligence Database, which maps toys to factors like developmental skills, moods, play types, and learning goals—an industry-first initiative.

“We are building India’s only toy app that’s serious about play. An app that helps you discover and buy the right toy when your child needs it, and lets you trade it in for store credits once they’ve outgrown it. No clutter, no guilt—just a smarter way to play,” said Aanchal Mahajan, Co-founder of Snooplay.

Snooplay currently houses over 35,000 toys from more than 600 brands, serving a growing community of parents, educators, collectors, and gift-givers across India. The company aims to build a closed-loop toy economy by combining smart discovery with sustainable exit options, including NGO-led toy buyback programs that promote conscious consumption.

As part of its expansion plans, Snooplay will:

  • Launch sustainable toy donation programs in collaboration with NGOs.

  • Scale its private label offerings across offline retail, e-commerce marketplaces, and the gifting segment.

  • Enhance its technology stack, logistics, and operational capacity.

With a unique focus on circular play and intelligent discovery, Snooplay aims to stand apart in India’s competitive toy market, which includes legacy players like Funskool, Mattel India, Simba Toys India, Hamleys, Hasbro India, and Lego India.
