LISSUN Acquires US-Based Being Cares Inc to Build AI-Driven Child Mental Health Ecosystem in India

In a significant move to revolutionize child mental health care in India, homegrown mental health startup LISSUN has acquired US-based Being Cares Inc, a leading AI-powered mental wellbeing platform. This strategic acquisition will accelerate LISSUN’s mission to build an AI-driven, therapist-supported behavioural development ecosystem tailored for children and adolescents.

Through the acquisition, LISSUN gains complete ownership of Being’s technology and global team, known for developing intelligent systems that map over 40 emotional and behavioural conditions, such as autism, ADHD, speech delays, and learning disorders. The integration combines LISSUN’s clinical approach with Being’s advanced AI tools to provide hyper-personalized care for children and families.

Varun Gandhi and Abhishek Sharma, Co-Founders of Being Cares Inc, have now joined the LISSUN leadership team as Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer, respectively. Their expertise will be instrumental in scaling LISSUN’s digital capabilities and enhancing its AI-led support.

Being Cares has served nearly one million users worldwide with its platform that analyzes over 2,500 real-world causes and effects to offer actionable mental health insights. With this integration, LISSUN plans to extend these capabilities to Indian families, providing AI-powered, real-time developmental tracking, therapy suggestions, and behavioural interventions across home, school, and clinical environments.

LISSUN’s “Sunshine by LISSUN” centres currently serve as physical hubs for child development and therapy. With the acquisition, the company is poised to become a full-spectrum mental health provider, offering both in-person care and AI-led digital solutions. LISSUN aims to expand its Sunshine network from 20 to over 200 centres in the next 2–4 years.

The startup also plans to scale its virtual AI assistant “Ray” to serve millions of parents via platforms like WhatsApp, enabling accessible and continuous support.

This acquisition marks a major step toward bridging gaps in India’s pediatric mental health landscape by merging clinical expertise, intelligent diagnostics, and technology-driven intervention.
